2. What do we use your data for?
We use your data for the purpose of carrying out the recruitment process (checking your application and suitability for the position) and, if necessary, to draw up and agree the employment contract. The data may also be used for statistical evaluations on a non-personal basis.
3. Which data do we use?
As part of the recruitment process, we process in particular:
- Information from the online forms and application documents (such as contact details, information from the CV and cover letter, certificates, references, etc.)
- Possibly information from third-party sources (such as information from official registers, information from recruitment agencies, reference information)
- Information from the application process (such as interviews)
- If you are or have already been employed by a Galenica Group company, we may also use information that we have as a result of that employment.

4. Who has access to your data?
Only the employees involved in the recruitment process will have access to your data. These include, in particular, HR specialists and potential line managers as well as other key persons from the relevant Group company.
Other companies whose services we use may also gain access to your data (such as the operator of our job application software Abacus Umantis AG or the operator of applications and storage services in connection with WhatsApp applications). We draw up contracts with recipients of your data in accordance with data protection regulations.
Furthermore, your data will only be forwarded to other recipients with your consent (for example, to obtain reference information) and to the extent necessary to comply with legal regulations or to safeguard or defend legal claims.
5. Where do we process your data?
Your data is primarily processed in Switzerland. Data processing may also take place abroad, in particular in the European Economic Area, the USA and potentially worldwide. This applies in particular to countries in which the Galenica Group is present through Group companies, branches or agencies (currently Austria) as well as other countries in which service providers are located. If we transfer data to a country without adequate statutory data protection, we ensure an adequate level of protection through appropriate contracts (based particularly on the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission, which can be found here, unless a statutory exception applies (for example, in the case of consent, contract execution, establishment, exercise or enforcement of legal claims, the protection of overriding public interests, published data or the protection of the vital interests of the persons concerned).
6. How long do we store your data?
We store your data for as long as it is necessary to carry out the specific application process. Furthermore, we store your data for as long as it is necessary to comply with legal requirements, if you have expressly consented to a longer storage period and if we have a legitimate interest in the storage, for example, for documentation and evidence purposes in the event of suspected misuse or to safeguard and defend legal claims. If an employment contract is not concluded with you, your data will be automatically deleted or anonymised after six months. During this period, your application documents for other vacancies within Galenica may be reviewed. With your consent, we will store your data for up to 12 months if we are currently unable to offer you a position but would like to keep your application pending for any future vacancies. You can check the status of your application, edit and withdraw your application or delete your application documents at any time via your applicant profile.
7. How do we protect your data?
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data and adapt these continuously to legal and technological developments. Together with our IT service providers, we have made the necessary arrangements for the proper handling of the data received.
8. What rights do you have regarding your data?
You have the right to object to the processing of your data, to revoke any consent you have given, and to request information about this, or the correction or deletion thereof, unless this is contrary to an overriding interest on our part or to legal or regulatory obligations. You also have the right to demand the return of certain data. If your rights are violated, you can assert them by taking legal action before the competent court or lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority (in Switzerland, with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner).
